My e-mail address gets a lot of quizzical looks, so maybe I should explain. When I signed up for my second account at Berkeley, I was told that the account must be based on my name. Being Michael Baer at a school where the team was the Cal Bears, it seemed pretty clear what the choice should be. I kept the name at Stanford, in spite of not being a huge sports fan - it's an easy address to remember and it has the side benefit of being a tad iconoclastic. However, I've never gotten harrassed for being calbear@stanford, though oddly enough I was harrassed by a group of Stanford students when my Berkeley address was calbear.
Anyway, nowadays some people even call me "calbear," and though I'd prefer "Michael," I understand there are lots of "Michael"s out there, but only one "calbear." @stanford, anyway.
