You are a winner.
Yes, it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to succeed, but no one can deny that you have made it. There were times when people doubted that you could, but you always knew that you'd reach the top, as long as you stayed focused. You only demand as much out of others as you demand of yourself. With a little discipline and a strong work ethic, you've shown that anyone can succeed.
You manage Electrodyne Systems, a successful electronics company that designs components for various branches of the military, and you make enough money to live very comfortably. Of course, success hasn't made you soft; in fact, you're probably more driven than ever. After all, now that you're at the top, everyone is just waiting for you to fail so they can take your place. You just have to keep a few steps ahead.
Of course, life wasn't always so fulfilling. When you were in school at UCLA, you had to work two part-time jobs just to pay for your boring, mindless classes. Instead of teaching you how to succeed in life, they made you memorize useless equations and write papers on historical trivia. During one of your mind-numbing jobs at the student union, you met a nice Japanese girl, Chie Hamada, and you started dating. It was the one bright spot in your life of academic slavery. College kids and snobby academics still drive you crazy with their know-it-all attitude.
At the first opportunity, you dropped out of school, over your parents' protests, not that they had paid a single dime to support you. Your friend Richard Allen wanted to start a company combining wireless technologies with a variety of devices that the two of you had cobbled together. After you proposed to her, Chie dropped out as well. Things were pretty slow at first, but Chie was able to keep you afloat with the odd job waiting tables or filing papers. She knew that you were a winner, and you've more than paid her back with the success of your company.
As business picked up, you became the most visible leader of your company. Richard was always toying with ideas, wasting resources to experiment with one technology or another, rather than keeping an eye on the bottom line. After negotiating some lucrative military contracts, which he had always opposed, you managed to loosen Richard's grip on the company. Unfortunately, it wasn't easy to remove him completely, and you had to take some extreme measures. Through your network of contacts, you hired a group of "specialists" to make life very difficult for Richard, pressuring him to resign. You're not sure what Mr. Chu and his organization did, but pretty soon Richard left the company and apparently moved out of the country. In any case, you gained complete control of Electrodyne Systems over five years ago, and you've been able to make it one of the premier companies in its field. You've relocated the company to San Diego, and you now live with Chie in a gated community of one of its upscale suburbs.
In the past year-and-a-half, things have become even more interesting. Chie has been happy enough throwing parties to entertain your clients or picking out yet another set of decorations, but you've realized that you aren't in love with her anymore. She hangs on your every word, and she tries so hard to make you happy, buying you special gifts with the money that you earn, but it's only become more stifling. You can hardly be blamed for finding someone else to bring some excitement into your life.
You met Megan while working one of your late nights at the office. Apparently, one of your lower managers had recently hired her to be his secretary. Finally, you had found someone who understood all the pressures involved in running a successful business. Without you having to ask, she started to stay late to help you out in the office, running errands, bringing you a hot meal, or give you a much-needed massage. You quickly had her transferred to become your personal assistant, and you eventually crossed professional boundaries. You know that it isn't an ideal situation, but Megan was quite willing, and once you started, there was no turning back. She's definitely more "adventuresome" than Chie has ever been, and she's brought out passions that you didn't even know you had. Megan is always on your mind these days, and your "late nights at the office" and "extended business trips" have become the highlights of your life.
Megan has recently been suggesting that you divorce Chie and marry her instead, but you know that nothing is that simple. Your lawyers believe that Chie would be able to take a good chunk of your fortune with her, even though she hasn't worked at all since your company started doing well. Of course, Chie has supported you since the beginning, and you do still care for her. You've never even told her about hiring a female personal assistant. This hasn't been sitting well with Megan, and things have been a bit rocky lately, but you know that Megan will still be yours in the end.
To help smooth things over, you began planning a romantic getaway with Megan. Next week, there will be an electronics showcase in San Francisco, so you used it as an excuse to disappear for the week. You would take the high- speed train to San Francisco and then take a limo out to a resort in Napa Valley. Megan was thrilled when you surprised her with your plans, and things were going along wonderfully. Then, disaster struck.
Chie showed up at the station, followed by an array of porters carrying her matching luggage. Someone vaguely familiar seemed to be walking along next to her.
You kept your cool, pretending not to hear her calling to you as you fiercely whispered instructions to Megan. You were both to act as though you had never met each other before, and she could stay at the resort as you attended the showcase. Above all, you ordered Megan to stay away from Chie. You had made a habit of traveling separately, so you hoped there wouldn't be any other unforeseen problems. Unfortunately, the flash of anger in Megan's eyes promised trouble.
As you finally turned around to acknowledge your wife, Chie explained to you that she had decided to surprise you by coming along. Apparently, your neighbor, Sean Diaz-Lapham had suggested that Chie head out to San Francisco to spend more time with you. You silently promised yourself to get back at Mr. Diaz-Lapham as soon as the opportunity arose.
When you boarded the train, things only got worse. Chie introduced herself to Megan and asked if she would mind trading seats, and Megan very warmly agreed to the switch. Without much subtlety, she brushed herself against you as she moved out into the aisle. Chie sat down beside you, but you could hardly pay attention to her chatter, as you saw Megan begin flirting outrageously with the men seated nearby.
You can handle this. You've been through worse. It's time to take control of the situation and to teach Megan to show some respect. You can deal with your wife being here, and you'll definitely keep your neighbor's role in this fiasco in mind.
At the beginning of the game, Chie will be talking to you about her plans for the two of you in San Francisco. Give her the occasional acknowledgment, but keep an eye on the outrageous things that Megan is doing. Remember the faces of those that might be responding to her whoring. When one of the judges announces the explosion, (safely!) fling yourself out of your seat, scream, cry out to the Heavens, or go nuts, as appropriate. Don't go overboard, as pretty much everyone should be dead within a few moments. When you die, just lie still on the ground with your eyes closed until a judge announces the continuation of the game.
When you wake, you'll be very afraid, but you'll do your best to hide it. There's too much you've left undone to die now. You need to take control of the situation and find a way to work things to your advantage. Chie will probably need comforting, but you really want to check on Megan as well, despite how she was acting. Eventually, you'll need to figure out what happened and what you can do about it.
You'll look down on anyone who prides himself on his college education. You'll want to make the college students see that college isn't the best way to prepare themselves for life, even if it's rather pointless now that you're all dead. You'll get very annoyed with people who disagree.
Be demanding of everyone. This is an emergency, and you need everyone working hard to figure things out and to keep the situation in hand. You'll lead by example, of course.
