We the Officers of Eta Kappa Nu, in order to form a more perfect organization, establish 1337ness, 
insure successful retreat, provide for the common student, promote the general Berkeley welfare, 
and secure the blessings of officer cohesion for ourselves and our posterity, do convene and call 
to order this officer meeting for the 23rd of January of 2008.

Article I. Presidential Address

Section 1. Props
All props granted in the OM is hereby announced by the president of HKN, which shall consist of:
a prop to the HKN website development team for extraordinary effort in ordaining and establishing a 
more perfect website for HKN,
a prop to the activity committee for making possible a retreat of excellent quality, 
a prop to welcome week tablers for spreading the HKN love to the most remote corner of the Berkeley 
campus
a prop to darren for insuring domestic tranquility in Soda office over a period of winter break
a prop to indrel for masterminding and overseeing the goldman sachs infosession and the preceding and 
superceding emails
a prop to fogeys and alumni for shrugging off frigid weather to attend the officer meeting


Section 2. Committee Member
Committee members shall be chosen in the second week in a members meeting whose purpose shall be to 
encourage members activity, and it shall be the committee who have the power and responsibility to 
choose committee members in the manner so prescribed.


Section 3. Mailing Lists
An activity alert mailing list shall be established for the purpose of stimulating activeness of the 
HKN candidates and member and increasing participation of HKN events. It shall consist of an email 
alert before every activity, general meeting, candidate meeting, and any other ensemble organized 
for the pursuit of happiness. All candidates shall be included in the list described of unless a 
candidate chooses of his/her own capacity to be excluded.

An misc mailing list shall also be used and it shall be free for all people of HKN to join.

In circumstances unforseen in this meeting where the need of a new mailing list might arise, it shall 
be the responsibility of ops to create such a list. The right of all HKN officers to create and manage 
new mailing lists shall not be denied or abridged.


Section 4. Office Clean-up:
Min shall propagate an email after the meeting to call forth a general clean-up of the Soda office to 
maintain habitatiblity of the facility. The second door of the office which was rendered impassable by 
an oversized shelf in the past semesters, shall be cleared in this clean-up to promote greater tutoring 
effectiveness.


Article 2. Miscellaneous 
Section 1. Announcement of Min
The rights of HKN officers to enter Soda and Cory hall shall be preserved in all times of the day 
through the uses and activation of the cardkeys. It shall be the duty of the people whose cardkey are 
shown to be ineffectual to report the injustice. 

It shall also be the inalienable perogative of all HKN officers to bear non-laminated and possibly 
malformed phone cards provided by Min. The meeting shall note however that through either reason of 
mischance or malice, the phone card contains the following factual inaccuracies:

"Soda Office: (510)642-9952" to replace the old number
"Lahini A." to replace "Lahini L."

It shall be noted that a second version of the phone card could be fabricated and distributed among 
the officer corps at a later indeterminate time.


Section 2. Costco Run
HKN shall hereby give thanks to george for voluntarily submitting his costco card for use in the 
purchasing of retreat supplies.


Article 3. Retreat
Section 1.
The activity committee shall make the following announcement in regard to the upcoming HKN retreat:

What to bring:
- Sleeping bags
- Toiletries (soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, sunscreen, chap stick), towels, washcloths
- Clothes, night clothes (something warm for night)
- Winter gear - warm clothes, hat, gloves, shoes
- Sunglasses
- Water bottles
- Money ($25 PLUS food on the way there, back, etc)
- Flashlights

Recommended:
- Video games (Wii, Xbox, GameCube, DS, DDR)
- Board games (Cranium, Settlers, Munchkin, Twister, UNO, Taboo, Risk, Stratego)
- Frisbees, footballs, soccer balls, basketball
- DVDs, CDs, popcorn
- Walkie-talkies/radios

What not to bring:
- Homework
- Laptops (unless they have DDR)
- Valuables

Appropriation of passengers to drivers shall be arranged as followed:
