The honorable president Johnny Tran calls meeting to order at stroke of midnight; meeting officially
begins at 20 minutes past midnight after much food were devoured. Johnny Tran present first orders of
business:
=Rejected motos : 'to the Min' (reason for rejection: too cool for HKN) , 'spread the HKN hate' (not enough
love) , 'let go of my frickin horn' (dangerous with michelle)
=Unrejected moto: =Officers should do at least as much as a candidate; the more the better
 =Retreat is fun, come!
=Sign up for finals office hour, and prepare for pre-semester meeting with jtran

Johnny Tran then yields floor to the honorable gentlemen from Compserv:
 =Don't break HKN servers
=Read the compserv email carefully, and then reply
=email ops@hkn.eecs.berkeley.edu if you have time
=Join awesome mailing lists to maximize your expected utility

After more festivity, Johnny Tran initiates the compilation of the HKN semester report--The Structure and
Interpretation of HKN Fall 2007:

Chapter I, the =) :
-------------
-conference succeeded
-candidate semester succeeded
-candidates amazed all
-indrels swelled the HKN treasury
-activities were well-planned, well-attended, fun, and the act committee is appreciated by all
-retreat was recognized by consensus as awesome
-officers and candidates interacted with mutual respect
-interesting challenges were given by all
-officers attended many events
-the candidate demographics boast higher female to male ratio
-the officer corps features many new-comers
-the bridge committee worked magic into the slide show and is appreciated by all
-tutoring committee expanded HKN tutoring activities
-the officer corps snatched a historic broomball victory from the clutch of the alumni
-the officer corps was cohesive
-the following events were recognized to be good: ice skating, broomball, fenton's, breast cancer walk,
capture the flag, food bank, uhuru pies, soccer, bowling, sports night, karaoke, scav-hunt, potluck
-the following people were recognized to be cool: everyone
-potluck photos were updated in real time
-Albert and Lahini gave full measure of devotion to their duties and accomplished their tasks beautifully
-drivers were plentiful
-candidates were very helpful and enthusiastic
-group challenges amused all
-the one additional community service events was a good idea
-exam file committee is recognized to have done well
-we now respond to department demands with greater haste
-officer phone cards proved an invaluable asset
-mid-semester meetings kept officers focused
-candidates were assigned to committees early enough
-large tables during banquet encouraged socializing

Chapter II, the =(
------------
-capture the flag was organized poorly
-paintball lacked existence
-bridge committee lacks time-management skill
-initiation needs better phase delineation (when to start, etc)
-potluck was not social enough
-the zoo clean-up lacked existence as well
-indrel suffered post-career fair fatigue syndrome toward the end
-pub's tshirt efforts were in vain alas
-some officers opted to not go to any events
-exam file raffle disappointed exam file committee
-the duty files proved inaccessible early on
-tutoring bemoans the lack of an effective feedback/tracking system
-late arrivals to events plagued the semester
-RSVP system was ignored by many, incorrectly used by some, and abused by Niels
-officers did not prepare challenges during CM
-candidates found challenges a difficult concept to grasp
-prot sorely needs a candidate photo-quiz
-we missed some candidates pictures
-course survey instructions were unclear

Chapter III, the improvements:
-------------
-tshirt
-harder but fewer challenges
-we must perform load balancing between scav-hunt and potluck
-bridge committee would like for yearbook to be online and have tags
-reduce latency between team return and judging in scav-hunt
-use checkpoint system for officers to ensure regular progress
-cleaning parties for the offices
-tutoring needs common questions, office policy FAQ
-leave NO dirty tissues in the office
-committee should talk to candidates after elections and convince them to do committee work and suggest
concrete tasks
-joe-list, aka, the regular event-alert list
-more interaction within committees
-pre-semester meetings can prompt officers for questions
-update challenge bin (it's on hkn.eecs.berkeley.edu/prot)
-we should post minutes on the hkn public website
-cheaper AAD
-minor training for office tutors
-publicize public services more
-banquet could've used isolated room and more space
-currency with HKN dead presidents

Johnny Tran yields floor to tutoring committee for office hour sign-up and to compserv committee for
account sign-up.

More festivity ensues as HKN celebrates Jared's birthday and wishes his newest journey around the sun to
be a merry one.

The meeting adjourns at an indeterminate time deep into the night.
