2) Poker Tourney
-Poker tournament will be held some time this month
-No buy-in
-We need prizes...but what kind?
  -things that we/EJC can afford
-Dollar amount is estimated at around a few hundred dollars
-Suggestions for prizes:

  -Hot or Not shirts
  -domain name
  -software

-Sahand suggests an iPod and a few gift certificates of lesser amounts of money
-Noaa suggests a Shuffle instead because it's cheaper, so the gift certificates
can either be worth more or we could have more certificates total
-Email George if you have any other suggestions

-Voting now to choose between Bourne Supremacy and Garden State:
  -Garden State (5)
  -Bourne Supremacy (lots)
--> We'll be watching Bourne Supremacy

4) Cal Day
-Cal Day is next Saturday
-We’re giving tours from 10am-3pm of Cory and Soda
-Lunch is provided for volunteers
-Email Robert w/ questions
-Robert will email people who have already signed up
-Who wants to be on the panel?
-It's a combined panel with SWE, HKN, UPE, etc.
  -More details to come
  -Volunteers: ttd, casey, hxu, vu
-Time slots for Cal Day will be available later since people's availability will vary

5) Career Fair
-We need as many people to sign up as possible
-It's going to be on Wednesday, April 20, from 11am – 5pm
-If you can only make it on the half hour, just sign up anyway (the sheet is going around)
-Sign up for as many slots as possible

6) T-shirt Contest
-EECS t-shirt contest is being held; more details are on the fliers posted around Cory
-eecstshirt@hkn.eecs.berkeley.edu to submit
-Chris asks if we can give out a better prize than a $30 gift certificate and free shirt
-People might be coming in to ask about procedures (how to submit their ideas, etc.)
-Format of submission is either paper or digital (send a link to a T-shirt)
-If they hand you a paper, put it in the pub box
-There is no set theme, except that it should be something EECS related
-We need people to judge the final results
  -chris, narenr, ttd, lili, ihaque...
-Many more raise their hands, so Isaac will just bring the designs to OM

7) HKN director
-Nationals wants us to help vote to select some new officer positions
-Positions are for President, VP, Director of Western Region, Director At Large
-They’ve provided us with biographies of each
-There is very little space for writing on the ballots; only 1 write-in choice available for each position
-You can abstain or nominate someone if you don’t want to vote 'yes' for the person
-There is only 1 vote (chapter vote)
-Chris is going to read little bits of the biographies
  -President:
    -J. David Erwin:
-Head of the EE dept at Auburn
      -Received his bachelor’s from Auburn
-Masters and PhD from the Univ. of Tennessee
  -VP:
    -Bruce A. Eisenstein:
      -Interested in DSP
-Head of the Department at UCD
      -MIT alumnus
      -IEEE Fellow
-At this point the suggestion was made to have a digital copy available so we can read the biographies
-Aaron asks if the president was supposed to be from IEC; where are these nominees coming from?
-Chris says that they're all professors/heads of departments from around the country
-For this election, we weren’t given any option to nominate people
-What are the consequences of nominating people?
-Aaron says we should object to all of them because we weren’t ever told in advance that this election
was happening; we never got to nominate people
-Also, we’re only given 1 week to do it, and there’s only 1 candidate for each position
-Chris: We can write in our own candidate and vote unanimously for him/her
-They want the # of ppl voting for both the write-ins and for the candidates
-Choosing to abstain can be interpreted as going along with what everyone else says
-If we want to send a message, we should pick someone and vote for that person
-We could nominate 4 people in this room
-However, they might take it as us not being serious about the whole election
-Vu suggests that we go along with three of their nominees and write one in ourselves for the
remaining position
-Mangesh says we should abstain from three and write the last one in
-Aaron's name is brought up as a write-in for the Western Region Director position, because he's
graduated and is still active in HKN
-Voting:
  -President:
    -J. David Erwin (1)
    -Abstain (everyone else)
  -VP:
    -Bruce A. Eisenstein (0)
  -Western Region Director
    -Steven Goodnik (0)
    -Aaron Jow (21)
  -Director At Large
    -Teresa Olson (1)
