1. Places to Go/Things to Do (vu)
- Go to AMD Day and Movie Night, if you have time.

2. EJC Rep (vu)
- Vu Nominated Nikita Shah. Made her leave the room. No one else 
  was nominated. 
- Vu opened it up for discussion, no one had any problems w/ 
  the nomination
- Approval Vote: Unanimous approval vote
- Congrats Nikita. She is THE EJC rep.

3. CS 301 (vu)
- M 9/27 10:30-12
- Help Prof. Clancy critique the TA's
- awei & sahandn volunteered to help out

4. AMD Day and Career Fair (hxu)
- Need two people at all times to man the event
- 8am - 8pm need people
- Please sign up on Hua's sheet. Contact indrel@hkn if you want 
  to volunteer and did not get a chance to sign up

- We hold a career fair and it is a big source of revenue. We are 
  making 5k for this semester. Need people from 1:30 to 5:30 on 
  Oct 5th. Sign up on the sign up sheet. 
- Office Hours will be canceled during Career Fair, so if you have 
  Office Hours at that time, come to career fair to help out

On other news:
- Vu met w/ David Culler and ILP: "things are looking good" ~ Vu 
- We should not have to worry about funding

4.5 EJC Stuff (vu)
- EJC wants to put together an Ultimate Frisbee team
- EJC polls us for ideas
- Homecoming game (vs. UCLA): they want to do "something," but 
  might coincide w/ photo scavenger hunt, which will be on the
  same day
- Planning an E-Day, not just E-Week
- They want us to table a lot
- Please send ideas for events to EJC rep à Nikita

5. Act Stuff (vu)
- One big activity: amusement or water park?
- Take vote
- Water park cheaper, but it would be cold
- Amusement park: 15 votes
- Water park: 7 votes

6. Compserv's Clue (nammai, chris)
- Quick tutorial on HKN resources
- Bridge: other computer in soda
- First rule: if you want to do anything with the computer 
 (like turning the computer off), think 4 times and then call 
 someone before you turn it off. In other words, just don't 
 turn it off
- Unix Commands: learn them 
- Log off computer when you're done
- We have a combos file: ~hkn/combos
- .forward: to change forwarding address
- Try hoserchat if you want to spend long amounts of time um? chatting
- All computer resources are there to help you get hkn things done. 
- Use HKN email if you send out official email
- Try to keep the size of the file down when you email to everyone
- Look at the man pages to find helpful stuff'
- Email ops@hkn if you have questions and need help or just to chat

Miscellaneous Items:
- Last Tuesday was Hobart's birthday. He didn't mention anything, 
  so perhaps next year. 
- Bridge has too much stuff on the server.
- Nam kept asking Steve to help him talk, but to no avail.
