* This will be a long read, due to the length of the meeting. My
humble apologies for those who are reading this.

1. Jobfair (IndRel, Pub)
------------------------
Indrel is closing down registration for the Job Fair this Friday. Apple
seems to have dropped out, but Oracle signed up recently. Vu "talked to
Rambus." Apparently, they're good, since they had pizza at the
Infosession.

Due to budget constraints, we'll have cheaper food for helpers. There
were no objections, us being po' college students and all.

Hua will send out more info for volunteers, and Jessica is looking into
movers. Helpers, please wear pants that are not jeans and wear an undershirt
under the Polo shirt. If you don't follow this simple rule, we may all
end up smelling like rotting turnips a la awei. Anyhow, we'll be closing
office hours that day, so you'd better help out if you have tutoring hours
that day. I have tutoring hours that day. Blast.

Publicity Stuff:
Pub says there will be flyering at 8:30AM till 10:30AM on Friday. This
is insane, and probably goes against Article 8 of the Bill of Rights.
Foolishly, some people volunteered for this thankless task:
awei, mimi, kgao, sahandn, amywung, chan(why, oh why)
We meet at 345 Soda.

We also need to put TODAY stickers next Thursday (7:30AM). There were
volunteers. You know who you are. Pub will have more instructions.
There will be chalking on Wednesday night, after AAD, if it doesn't rain.
If feasible, people can do it before OM as well. Also, if you've signed
up to make chalkboard announcements, make sure to ask the professor of the
lecture for permission.

Brandon the Foolish volunteered to wear the sandwich board on the day of
the career fair. Mimi insisted that Brandon go to classes with the
sandwich board. We weren't so sure about that. It's very inconvenient to
sit down in a sandwich board. Still, if there are executive orders,
Brandon may have to attend class wearing nothing but a sandwich board.
President's orders pending.

2. AAD (AlumRel)
----------------
We will be appreciating our alumni and depreciating our retired
officers on Wednesday, February 11 after OM at TGIF in Jack London Square.
Please reply to Wonsop's RSVP email. HKN will subsidize a portion of your
costs. That amount will be figured out "soon."

3. Big dates & Candidate Stuff (VP)
-----------------------------------
Important Dates!!
.................
Thurs 2/19 6:30-8:30 Woz	CM
Tues 3/2 6:30-8:30 Woz GM1
Wed 3/31 6:30-8:30 Woz GM2
Tues 4/20 6:30-8:30 Woz GM3
Mon: Tues 2/23-2/24 Conversations
Fri: 4/30 Packets due

Buddy System:
Scrapped. Instead, will have more coordinated committee system as dtom
suggested. Amy will teach us how to handle candidates. If you've handled
candidates before, and if your name is not Kun, please give some pointers
to Amy. Committee heads should start thinking about what kind of work you
want your candidates to do. Amy will crack down on this fo sho' this
semester.

Theme songs for CM:
Submit a link to an mp3 for your committee's theme song by the Tuesday
before CM. Otherwise, Amy will choose some horrible, horrible song to
represent your committee. :)

Ideas for an icebreaker at CM:
	1) imitating machine. geoffcm
	2) imitating a sandwich. jcliang
	3) imitating a fruit or a sound, and hitting people with a
           styrofoam noodle. nikitas
	4) imitaiting a chain. hold hands behind your back, flip a coin and
           run around. cause havoc. amywung
email amywung@hkn with more icebreaker suggestions or opinions.

4. Mission Statement & hkn@hkn (Pres)
-------------------------------------
The final mission statement, after extensive grammaticialitous review:

"Eta Kappa Nu exists to give back to the EECS community and to honor the
academic excellence & character of its members. We provide a {variety,
cornucopia, plethora} of services to foster the relationships between EECS
students and the department and industry."

Basically, we're liasers. Bam!! Liaser beams!!

Ahem.. Current officers are encouraged to audit hkn@hkn, which is
normally for executives (treas, deptrel, pres, vp). Many ad-hoc
procedural and other decisions are made through this mailing list, so
officers are encouraged to audit to get a better view of how things work.
Ask ops@ to be put on hkn-auditors@hkn.

5. Tutoring (Tutoring?)
-----------------------
Chris is going to try to supply both offices with copies of textbooks - he
is accepting donations of old textbooks and lwnage of textbooks. If you
want to either donate or lwn, let chris@hkn know. By the way, we've
started tutoring. If tutoring attendance doesn't improve, Chris might
have to invoke some sort of sign-in procedure, or unleash AlexF on the
truant tutors. Raman says chris should enforce tutoring hours. If you
can't make your hours, try to get someone to cover for you, Kun.

6. Community Service (Act)
--------------------------
Making and compiling (ha ha) programs for Berkeley Food and Housing
Project. It will be on Valentine's day (or just 2/14 for us lonely
souls), and the location is within walking distance.
There are two shifts, 10-1 and 1-4. People signed up with Shi-Hua after
the meeting.

7. Wiki (Quarl)
---------------
Karl: Anybody have questions?
... some moments later
Karl: Wiki is unbreakable.
Amy: Is that a challenge? (Amy breaks all)

Essentially, wiki is good for web access, or keeping running notes.
However, the duties files on the Unix filesystem should be the more
permanent record for now.

Excerpts from 'The Very Secret Diary of Legolas, Son of Weenus'
(Shamelessly ripped from http://www.ealasaid.com/misc/vsd/legolas.html)

Day One:
Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow
some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important
mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Four:
Boromir so irritating. Why must he wear big shield like dinner plate all
the time? Climbed up Caradhras but wimpy humans who cannot walk on snow
 insisted we climb back down.

Am definitely prettiest member of the Fellowship. Go me!

Day Six:
Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I
 am developing a tangle.

 Orcs so silly.

 Still the prettiest.

Day Ten:
Gandalf fell into shadow. In other news, I think I am developing a spot
on my nose. V. serious situation, as Elven spots likely to last for 500
 years or more.

 Still prettiest, despite blasted spot.

Day 33:
Boromir tempted by Ring. So tedious. Cannot be tempted myself, as already
have everything I want i.e. perfect hair and a butt like granite.

Have been getting very strange letters from someone calling herself
"Stacey" who wants to do obscene things to my elfhood. Fortunately have
super-duper elf vision so can run away if I see her coming.
